This is a portfolio sent to employers. When it is sent, the link carries a token so I can tell whether the application was opened — the same thing a read receipt does, and the reason it exists is that a portfolio you cannot tell anyone read is a portfolio you cannot improve.
What is collected
- That a page was opened, and which page.
- How far down it was scrolled, and how long it was actively open.
- Whether a video was played, and how much of it was watched.
- Whether the CV was downloaded.
- The browser's user agent and referring page.
- The company the link was sent to — because I typed it when creating the link, not because anything was detected about you.
What is not collected
- No cookies. The session identifier lives in
sessionStorage: same tab only, no cross-site reach, gone when the tab closes. - No third-party analytics, tag managers or pixels.
- No third-party video. The clips are served from this site. A YouTube or Vimeo embed would set third-party storage, which would undo everything on this page.
- No fingerprinting, and no tracking across other websites.
- No names, no email addresses, no attempt to identify individual people.
Where it goes
A Postgres database in Frankfurt, on infrastructure Ahmed Yassin controls. It is not shared, sold, or fed to anything else. Nobody but us sees it.
Turning it off
Blocking JavaScript switches all of it off, and the site is built to be fully readable that way — the writing, the images and the video all work without it. Nothing on this site is gated behind measurement.
